Chip Pettit
Chip Pettit enters his ninth season at the helm of the Bulldogs in 2009. Coach
Pettit is a graduate (1992) of Crown Point High School, Valparaiso University
(B.S.), and Indiana University (M.S.). After graduating from college, he
returned to Crown Point and taught Social Studies at Taft Middle School. In
addition, he coached football, basketball, and baseball at Crown Point High
School. Coach Pettit then left Crown Point to teach Social Studies and serve as
the first Head Football Coach in the history of Wheeler High School.
In
2006, the Bulldogs set a school-record for wins (12) while completing
back-to-back undefeated regular seasons and Duneland Conference Championships.
The Dogs also won their first Sectional Championship in 15 years (2006). Coach
Pettit was named the 5A Coach of the Year in 2002 & 2005. He served as the
Region 1 Director for the Indiana Football Coaches Association in 2004. Coach
Pettit will coach the North squad in the IFCA All-Star game in July of 2007. He
is currently teaching US History at Crown Point High School. Coach Pettit and
his wife, Karin, reside in Crown Point with their son, Will (5) and daughter,
Avery (3).
Kevin Enright
Kevin Enright begins his eighth season with the Bulldogs and his seventh as the
Defensive Coordinator in 2009. In 2005, Coach Enright's defense led the state
(5A) in points allowed. Before accepting a position on the Crown Point staff,
Coach Enright coached at Hammond Morton, Merrillville, East Chicago, and Hammond
Clark. Coach Enright is a graduate of Hammond Morton and Butler University
(B.S.). Kevin worked for twelve years as a police detective for the City of
Hammond. Coach Enright teaches US History and Government at Crown Point High
School. He resides in Crown Point.
